The upper rake face of the insert is mounted level with the top of the tool holder to enable chips to flow across the insert, without being interfered by clamps or the tool holder body. The 4 curved helical cutting edges ensure positive radial rake angles and soft penetration into the material being cut. The decreased forces and smaller loads provide better tool lifetime, higher stability and the ability to use tremendously tremendous depths of cut and higher feeds.
